I see a lot of people here, talking that they want they're host country back and all this stuff, but I believe it's not about the country and about the way of life. I mean, when you are an exchange student you don't worry about school, you always go out, drink, do whatever the fuck you want, you travel all the time, and the concernment of people around you is " Are they having fun? " You always meet new people, and do shits that you could have never wondered. But think about what an exchange student life is, and apply that for your home country... You would love it too, because of THE LIFE you take, not because of where you are. If I were in my home country taking the life I'm taking here during my exchange I'd be as happy as I'm here, but the fact is, when your exchange is finished, you have to come back to the real life, and that's the part that sucks.
It's obvious that you miss things from your home country, but try to come back to it and work your ass off, try to get a job, try to study for real and stuff like that. It won't be the same. So the real deal about exchange is the life you take! Not the place you go... And this is also the main reason that after exchange everybody realizes that " I don't belong to just one place anymore, I belong to the world." That's the thing! You can never have and exchange student life again, but you can have the spirit that was born during your exchange... I'm doing my exchange right now and it's been only a month, and I think already about how is it going to be in the end, because I already love my host country, and I that's why I'm writting this. After some while thinking, I got to understand that my life here is great, and no matter what happen, it will never come back in the way it is, that's why I enjoy every second of it, and try my best to have stories. It will be the only thing that will remain from this " Exchange Student Life" .

"Aren't you scared?!"
-Yes, but I'm mostly excited.
"Won't you miss your family?"
-Probably, but I will see them again.
"Why would you even want to go?"
-Are you kidding? I want to go because the world is bigger than our tiny little town. I want to go because I know this will be hard but I truly do believe I can do it.
But mostly, I want to go because I have decided that I would rather go live about the world than simply sit in a classroom and learn about it.

"How do you know what is a dream if you never accomplished one?
How do you know what is an adventure if you never took part in one?
How do you know what is anguish if you never said goodbye to your family and friends with your eyes full of tears?
How do you know what is being desperate, if you never arrived in a place alone and could not understand a word of what everyone else was saying?
How do you know what is diversity if you never lived under the same roof with people from all over the world?
How do you know what is tolerance, if you never had to get used to something different even if you didn't like it.
How do you know what is autonomy, if you never had the chance to decide something by yourself?
How do you know what it means to grow up, if you never stopped being a child to start a new course?
How do you know what is to be helpless, if you never wanted to hug someone and had a computer screen to prevent you from doing it?
How do you know what is distance, if you never, looking at a map, said “I am so far away”?
How do you know what is a language, if you never had to learn one to make friends?
How do you know what is patriotism, if you never shouted “ I love my country” holding a flag in your hands?
How do you know what is an opportunity, if you never caught one?
How do you know what is pride, if you never experienced it for yourself at realizing how much you have accomplished?
How do you know what is a friend, if the circumstances never showed you the true ones.
How do you know what is a family, if you never had one that supported you unconditionally?
How do you know what are borders, if you never crossed yours, to see what there was on the other side?
How do you know what is imagination, if you never thought about the moment when you would go back home?
How do you know the world, if you have never been an exchange student?"
